Pediatric Grief

Recently I lost my best friend and the love of my life, Lola "Bear" Works. She was a 58-pound happy, spontaneous companion. Navigating loss is one of the hardest parts of life, especially for children.

Supporting a Grieving Child: - **Be Honest:** Use clear, age-appropriate language rather than confusing euphemisms. - **Encourage Expression:** Allow children to express sadness, anger, or confusion through drawing, talking, or playing. - **Maintain Routines:** Consistent daily schedules provide security during overwhelming times. - **Reassure Them:** Let them know that their feelings are normal and that they are safe and loved.
